• Terrain

Total lenght of skitracks ca 60 km. 27% wide skitracks made by tractor, 2% narrow trakcs and 71% with fragmented line in map snowsledge tracks.

NB!

Contrary ways in wide skitracks in rise/decrease, where the speed is very high when decending! By course setting such movement is minimised, however please be carefull.

Prohibited areas

• Terrain is closed until 13.02.2011. Training with map is prohibited.

• SPORTIdent punching system in all classes. All SI cards are accepted (incl. 8 ja 9). SI-card hire fee 1,5EUR/Day. If the SI-card is lost the fine is 30EUR. The competitor is responsible for clearing and controlling the SI-card before start.
  NB! Please also check your SI-card number early before the start from the start list.  

Registration

• On-line registration at https://www.osport.ee . Registration deadline 7 February 2011.

• NB! The entry fee should be paid together with registration. The registration is valid only after payment. Please note that all bank charges are due from the sender.
• There will be free places in the beginning of start list which will be filled after registration deadline for double entry fee.

• MN20, 65                 - 6      EUR/per day (2 days 12EUR)
• MN21, 35, 45, 55     - 8      EUR/per day (2 days 16EUR)

Preliminary course lenghts

• The courses are planned to test in maximum level the map reading/route choice skills, concentration ability and physical capability of the competitors. The course master attempts to offer competition which will be memorable to the competitors.

Distance to start

• Middle distance start is 600 meters from Competition centre, Long distance start in Competition centre.

Start order

• Middle distance draw

In classes MN21 three best and in classes MN20 winner of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian Championships in sprint/middle distance will be not drawn to first 1/3 part of the start list.

Start interval in all classes 2 minutes. Pre-start time is 2 min.

The maps will be given 1 min before start.

• Long distance draw

In classes MN21 three best and in classes MN20 winner of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian Championships in long distance will be not drawn to first 1/3 part of the start lists.

Start interval in all classes 2 minutes. Pre-start time is 2 min.

The maps will be given 1 min before start.

All competitors will have numbers. The numbers are available on first day in the start. The same number of the competitor will valid also in second day. Wearing the number is obligatory and the number must be attached to the thigh (upper part of the leg) of left leg (our competition speaker will recognize you and can give information to the spectators.

After finishing on the second day please return to us the safety pins if possible. Thank you in advance!  

START

Pre-start is 2 minutes. The start clock in the first 2 minutes line shows start time for a competitor, for example, if the starting time in the start list is 12:22, the competitor must be on 2 minute line by 2-min line clock at 12:22 by (at the same time competition time is 12:20),

the competitor takes a map 1 minute before the start in 1 minute area of the map's pocket of competitor class, then the competitor must place their card to the map holder.

Start is by the start clock signal or by judge's order.

Then, the competitor must pass through the K-point, which is marked with a red triangle on the map, and to which leads the marked track. Passing through K-point is mandatory.

Punching rules
Punching at the controls, by placing the SI-card into the hole on top of the control unit, the competitor will get a confirming visible and/or audible signal from the electronic control unit confirming the registration. The competitor is responsible for punching at the correct control. If the punch did not register the competitor must use the manual punch in the R-boxes on the map, R1, R2, R3 or into the edge of the map on lack of the reserve boxes. A lost SI-card will result in disqualification.

Finish

The finish time will be taken through a punch at the finish line. After the finish punch the competitor continues through the finish chute to another punch unit, where the information from the SI-card will be read out. Competitors, who have used manual punching, must inform the finish officials after emptying their SI-card. The hired SI-cards must be returned to a finish official as soon as they have been emptied on the last competition day. Result list with split-times will be given to competitors in finish area.

When a hired SI-card will lose, it costs 30 EUR.

Results

Result list with split-times will be given to competitors in finish area. The official results will be published after competition, in addition in webpage of OC Ilves http://www.okilves.ee/.

Prize giving

In competition classes MW14, MW16, MW18, MW20, MW21* the winners will be awarded with the title 2011 Estonia Champion. First three places will be awarded by a medal and a diploma of the Estonian Olympic Committee - EOC.

* If in the competition classes MN14, MN16, MN18, MN20, MN21 to the final date for pre-registered are registered for the EMV calculation 1-3 competitors, then in these classes the 2011 Estonian Champion will not issued, the EOC medals will be not awarded. The bests will be awarded by EOF diploma.

In the remaining classes the title 2011 Estonia Champion will be assigned to winners. First three places will be awarded at least with medal of the EOF.

Where in the Ski Orienteering Championships outside runner comes to the three best places he/she will be awarded with prize.

Accommodation in HOLSTRE school:
